Common Photo Mistakes to Avoid

A few patterns cause more re-uploads than anything else. If your favorite photo has any of these, see if you have an alternative — or reach out to us before placing your order and we'll give you an honest read.

• Heavy filters or black-and-white edits. These remove the color information our artists need. If you have the original, please send that instead.
• Pet wearing sunglasses, costumes, or face paint. Adorable, but they hide the very features we need to capture.
• Group shots where your pet is small in the frame. Cropping in dramatically reduces resolution. A photo where your pet is the main subject works much better.
• Backlit photos (sun behind the pet). The face becomes silhouetted and key details are lost.
• Screenshots of social media posts. Compression usually destroys the detail. Whenever possible, send the original file from your camera roll.

What to Do If You Only Have a Few Older Photos
